THE #1 BESTSELLING POLITICAL THRILLER
The Fellowship William Tyree 9780615830391 Books
The Fellowship is GREAT reading, the pages blast by full of action, propulsion, and suspense. Sometimes when I read a "thriller," it feels as if the author is trying desperately to get a lot of balls up in the air and keep them juggling just for the sake of entertainment. The Fellowship is different. Don't get me wrong, it has lots of action and suspense but it also has a few things that a lot of thriller authors seem to miss in their haste to keep the reader guessing about what will happen next. Tyree's characters, for one, are not just clichéd cut-outs, they have depth, reality and humor. Also, the action of the novel, which kept me at the edge of my seat throughout, has moments which point to greater considerations about history, religion, and even spirituality: How has the History we've all learned from specific texts been shaped by the victors/powers that be? How much power does the Vatican have despite the small size of its sovereign state? How many of us have moments in our own lives where we realize the sometimes "painful inconsistencies between our beliefs and reality?" This is my kind of thriller. It has great characters who've continued to evolve (after living/surviving in Line of Succession), it has thought-provoking plot lines that keep you thinking but most importantly, it keeps you wanting more pages just moments after turning the last one.Product details

This is a well crafted thriller and I absolutely enjoyed reading it from start to finish. Fans of this genre will love sinking their teeth into this one!
This absorbing and attention-grabbing work had me riveted from the beginning. The story flows from scene to scene effortlessly, and the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling.
As much as this genre can be predictable, I found this tale of intrigue to be refreshingly imaginative. There are twists and turns in this page turner that will take the reader on a thrilling journey.
It's one of those rare stories that come along that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I'm giving nothing away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery!
A highly recommended read!
This is the second in what will hopefully be a long series of espionage thrillers featuring Tyree's Bond-like protagonist "Blake Carver." Once again we are plunged into the action, with Tyree capturing minute details and observations about the people, places and modes of transportation/weaponry that populate Carver's world to give the reader a "you-are-there" experience.
By virtue of what Carver does, he must maintain a loner's existence, and Tyree gives a clear picture of the hurt he feels (and hides) when love, or anything like it, is near. This is what makes Carver real and easy to empathize with as he uses his considerable intelligence and physical prowess to do what must be done to ferret out secrets or individuals who may hurt or help the innocent.
If you like your thrillers fast-paced and chilling, "The Fellowship" will do the trick.
The Fellowship had me hooked within the first chapter, I just couldn't put it down once I had started for so many different reasons. The first thing I would like to point out is how original the idea is, a lot of thrillers these days usually follow the same cliche instances and settings - this isn't the case at all for this book, I don't think I've came across a story as unique and different as this in a long time. There's plenty of action that really gives the book a fast pace that is executed very nicely, at some points I thought that the quality of the writing resembled a novel I read by Steve Berry because that's how good it is. The book incorporates a lot of real life instances into an exciting and entertaining story, if you're looking for a good Vatican thriller then you have to check this out, William Tyree is a thriller genius.
It was an entertaining read, the characters were well developed and it kept you in suspense however, remember it is a work of fiction. Although there are many factual things in the book, the ossuary with the bones of Jesus is not one of them. Christians believe he died on the cross and was buried and three days later arose both physically and spiritually. This is one of the pillars of Christian belief. People over the years have tried to disprove this event but it is a historical fact. Jesus appeared to as many as 500 people at one time. Thomas doubted Jesus resurrection so Jesus appeared to him and asked him to put his hand in the wound in His side and in the holes in His hands and then Thomas believed. All other founders of the various religions are buried somewhere except Jesus. The book tries to hint that there was motive for destroying the body of Jesus by the Romans or the Pharisees but what motive would they have? Destroying the body would only help the Christians promote their beliefs of resurrection. The Romans would do everything possible to show the remains if they were available to disprove the event. This is not a book on religion and it doesn't try to be. It is however.an entertaining read.
William Tyree is a new author for me and after reading the first novel in his (so-far) three-novel series, I quickly picked up the others. I have now read all of them - The Fellowship is the second. They are all excellent.
The story here involves political assassinations both in Washington D.C. and in London, with an apparent common source. Blake Carver digs into the mystery, working to identify the killers and reveal the existence of an ancient order of assassins still in place.
As with Tyree's earlier novels, the span of characters and intertwining storylines can be confusing but there is an urgency and tension to the story that is quite good. I found myself eagerly reading along, anxiously moving from scene to scene as events unfold.
The books so far in this Blake Carver series are, in sequence
Book 1 Line of Succession
Book 2 The Fellowship
Book 3 Rogue Empire
